Isle La Motte, USA

From to

The ILMP Education Center is located in an 83-hectare nature reserve on the island of Isle La Motte in the northern state of Vermont in the USA, just below the border of Canada. 460 million year old fossils are on display there, which is why the permanent loan of the English language version of the exhibition ‘Walk through time… from stardust to us’ has found an ideal place there and the numerous guests come from all ages and professions.

Testimonials

Linda Fitch, president of the ILMP Trust:

I can only say that during the five years we have been privileged to host the exhibit on our 83 acre fossil and nature preserve it’s been a star studded success. We have been flooded by visitors who come to see our 460 million year old fossils. But of equal or even greater interest to visitors from around the US and abroad, is the Walk Through Time… trail.

Exact numbers of visitors are challenging to record because though our Visitor/Education Center with its sign in book is open five days a week, the preserve and trails are open every day of the week from June to mid-October during daylight hours. So we can say that though the sign in book in the Visitor Center records around 4,000 visitors during this period, many more visitors come to see both our Fossil Discovery Areas and the Walk Through Time… Trail who are not recorded.

Our visitors include schools from the elementary to college level, senior citizen groups, research scientists and the general public – including folks of all ages and from all walks of life.
